About the Role

Our client is a well established Canadian aerospace, defence and nuclear precision manufacturer with over four decades of pedigree producing flight and safety critical components at its advanced manufacturing facility in the Greater Toronto Area. They are hiring a New Product Introduction Manager to take new work from design through first article to full production. Permanent, full time, on site.

What You Will Do

You will own the introduction of new products and the re-industrialisation of existing ones, from design through first article approval to optimised production. This is a hands-on programming role as much as a leadership one. You will write the CNC programs, develop and validate the processes, run the timelines and budgets, and lead a team of manufacturing engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• CNC programming across all machining operations, working toward a lights out process
• Develop, innovate and validate manufacturing processes to regulatory and quality requirements
• Lead cross-functional teams across design, engineering, quality and operations through product introductions
• Set project timelines and budgets, manage spend and request capital equipment funding
• Provide technical leadership during quotations to ensure manufacturability and cost effectiveness
• Run risk assessments, contingency plans and technical issue resolution to protect delivery
• Drive Lean and Six Sigma improvement and train the team on new equipment and processes
• Lead technology transfer to the sustaining production team once a product is ready
• Oversee and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers, including hiring and development
• Maintain process FMEAs and control plans, and ensure AS9100 and customer compliance

Must Haves

• 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing in a CNC Programmer role
• Strong programming across 3-4-5 axis milling, turn milling, probing, deburring, tool laser measurement set up and Vericut
• Minimum 5 years CNC programming on Inconel, titanium or stainless components
• Strong quality engineering skills and familiarity with aerospace customer specifications
• Knowledge of build-to-print manufacturing including machining, special processes and assembly
• Very good knowledge of AS9100 and QMS, plus APQP and PPAP for machining
• Deep knowledge of blueprints, tolerances and GD&T
• Working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems and how to extract data from them

• Bachelor's or Master's in mechanical or industrial engineering
• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
• CMM programming and advanced measurement tools
• Export Control, ITAR or Controlled Goods training
