About the Role
A Canadian aerospace company is hiring a Senior Aircraft Structures Engineer to lead the design, analysis and certification of repairs and modifications on their in-service fleet. On site in Vancouver, BC, you will act as the senior technical authority on aircraft structures, owning repair design, modification and certification activities while mentoring intermediate and junior engineers.
What You Will Do
Serve as the senior technical authority on aircraft structures, owning repair and modification design through certification, running the supporting stress and damage tolerance analysis, and mentoring the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and approve structural repairs, modifications and product developments on primary and secondary structures
• Develop engineering data packages and lead certification interactions
• Run static stress, fatigue and damage tolerance analyses, and validate FEA models
• Prepare and approve engineering reports within the engineering authorization framework
• Mentor junior and intermediate engineers across stress, design, liaison and airworthiness
Must Haves
• 15+ years aerospace experience with 10+ years in aircraft structural analysis
• B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Professional Engineer registration, or eligible
• Experience with Transport Canada and/or DND certification frameworks
• Strong working knowledge of FEA, model validation and verification
