Senior Additive Manufacturing Technician
Job Description:
About the Role
Our client is a Canadian aerospace company developing cutting-edge launch technology. As they scale production, they are looking for a hands-on Senior Additive Manufacturing Technician to own their metal additive manufacturing capability near Toronto or St. John's. Onsite full time.
What You Will Do
Own hands-on operation of the metal additive manufacturing capability, primarily laser powder bed fusion, running the full build cycle end to end and producing flight-quality metal components for advanced aerospace hardware.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) metal printing systems through the full build cycle: file preparation, machine setup, powder loading, atmosphere prep, print execution, in-process monitoring, and build removal
• Develop and document build procedures and process parameters across alloys such as Inconel, titanium, stainless steel, and aluminium
• Manage the full metal powder lifecycle including receiving, sieving, recycling, lot tracking, and safe handling of reactive powders
• Perform or coordinate post-processing and dimensional inspection, maintain LPBF equipment, and keep full build traceability within the quality system to produce flight-quality metal components
Must Haves
• Diploma or certificate in manufacturing technology, materials or mechanical engineering technology, metallurgy, or a related program
• 4+ years operating metal additive manufacturing systems, with direct LPBF experience strongly preferred
• Practical knowledge of metal powder handling and safety, metallurgy fundamentals relevant to AM, and post-processing of metal AM parts including support removal, surface finishing, and inspection
• Ability to read engineering drawings with GD&T and material specifications
• Strong attention to detail and a disciplined, safety-first approach
Nice to Haves
• Familiarity with aerospace quality systems such as AS9100 or ISO 9001
